Pinelock

Privacy policy

Last updated October 5, 2026

Pinelock helps you spend less time on distracting apps by locking them on your terms. It’s built so that what you do on your phone stays on your phone.

What stays on your iPhone

All of it is stored on your device only.

What Pinelock sends

The current version sends nothing to Pinelock or anyone else. It has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party tracking.

A future version may let you name trusted contacts who receive an unlock code, and alert them if Pinelock is removed. If you turn that on, their email addresses or phone numbers, your name and a random device identifier will be sent to Pinelock’s code server only to deliver those messages. They won’t be used for anything else, shared or sold, and this policy will be updated before that happens.

Beta testing through TestFlight

If you test Pinelock through Apple’s TestFlight, Apple shares with us what TestFlight collects: crash reports, basic device information (model and iOS version), any feedback and screenshots you choose to send, and the email address you were invited with. We use it only to fix problems and improve Pinelock. See Apple’s privacy policy for how Apple handles it.

Children

Pinelock is a self-control tool for the person using the phone. It isn’t designed for parents to monitor children.

Your choices

In Pinelock’s Settings → Privacy you can:

You can change your age range and daily-use answer under Settings → Your starting point.

Deleting your data

Deleting Pinelock removes everything it stored. You can also turn off its Screen Time access in Settings → Screen Time.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
